Excerpt from Deutsche Grafen Haeuser der Gegenwart, Vol. 2: In Heraldischer, Historischer und Genealogischer Beziehung; L-ZPfleger in Lackh, vermählt mit Marusch (margaretha) v. Apfalterer, hinterliess die Söhne: georg und andreas. Von Georg stammen, wie angegeben werden wird, die Hauptlinien zu Ortenegg und Otlenstein und sämmtliche fürstliche und gräfliche Linien in Oesterreich, Steiermark und Bayern ab Andreas pflanzte mit Margaretha (nach Einigen Agues) v. Zobelsperng durch seine Söhne: johann und gregor die Linie zu Schneeberg, Sauenstein und Willengrain. Beide wurden vom Kaiser Ferdinand I. 1524 mit den übrigen Anverwandten in den Freiherrenstand erhoben. Johann starb kinderlos, Gregor setzte die Linie fort, doch erlosch dieselbe mit Herward Freiherrn v. Lamberg im 17. Jahrhundert. Geor'g, geb. 1400, gest. 1499, setzte durch seine Söhne, joseph und caspar III., die ältere Hauptlinie fort. Josephs Nachkommenschaft wurde die Orteneckische Nebenlinie genannt, welche mit Joseph Felix Adam Grafen v. Lamberg 17. Mai 1795 erlosch. Die Nachkommenschaft Caspars III. Heisst die Orteneckische Hauptlinie. Caspar III. Erhielt mit seinen Brüdern 1492 und 1543 den Freiherrenstand und für sich und seine Nachkommen das Oberst - Erbland - Stallmeister - Amt in Krain und der windischen Mark. Aus zweiter Ehe mit Margaretha Langin v. Wellen burg sprossten drei Söhne hier irrt Klübers Genealogisches Staats handbuch abermals, welches von zwölf Söhnen spricht von denen nur der zweite, sigismund, gest. 1619, den Stamm fortsetzte. Derselbe hatte aus erster Ehe mit Siguna Eleonore Freiin v. Fugger fünf, aus zweiter Ehe mit Anna Maria Herrin von Meggan sieben Söhne, doch pflanzten aus erster Ehe nur raymund und georg sigismund, und aus zweiter johann albert das Geschlecht fort. Raymund, vermählt mit Margaretha Freiin v. Annenberg, stiftete die ältere Linie zu Greiffenfels; Georg Sigismund, in dritter Ehe vermählt mit Johanna de Scala, der letzten ihres Geschlechts, gründete die mittlere Linie durch zwei Söhne aus dieser Ehe: es wurde nämlich johann maximilian der Stifter des fürstlichen, und johann wilhelm des ameranger oder bayerischen Astes; johann albert aber, in zweiter Ehe mit Anna Catharina Freiin v. Küen burg und in dritter mit Elisabeth v. Schifer vermählt, stiftete die jüngere Linie, da der Sohn zweiter Ehe johann franz den sprinzensteinischen mit Anton Franz Adam im Anfange dieses Jahrhunderts erloschenen Ast, der Sohn dritter Ehe, johann albert, den Ast zu Steckern gründete. Georg der zweite Sohn Wilhelms II. Und Balthasars Bruder verliess von Catharina, deren Geschlechtsname nicht aufzufinden ist, sechs Söhne: Hans, Friedrich, Sigismund, Heinrich, Georg und Caspar. Letzterer entdeckte um das Jahr 1490, nach den Collectaneen des Grafen v. Verdenberg, die reichen Quecksilbergruben zu Idria in Krain. Hans und Friedrich hatten keine Succession, Sigismund starb 1461 als Bischof zu Laibach, heinrich und georg II. Aber hinterliessen Nach kommen. Von Heinrich stammten christoph und hieronymus. Christoph erhielt 1494 vom Kaiser Maximilian I. Die Erlaubniss, das Podweinsche Wappen neben dem alten Lambergschen zu fuhren.
